Judge Erwin Katz was a retired United States Bankruptcy Judge with over 15 years of distinguished service on the federal bench, who started practicing with Goldstein & McClintock shortly after the firm’s formation in 2011.

Prior to his appointment as a bankruptcy judge in 1987, Judge Katz worked as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Northern District of Illinois, where he was assigned to the Organized Crime section. He later engaged in private practice, where he specialized in civil trials, health care and product liability law, as well as general transactional law. Subsequent to retiring from the bench, Judge Katz had been extensively involved in mediation. Over the years, Judge Katz mediated approximately 400-500 disputes. He gave lectures on mediation skills at the Federal Judicial Center, the Dispute Resolution Institute at DePaul University College of Law, and various Bar associations and trade groups.
